Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi forest park
The most memorable day of your journey to Uganda could be this thrilling experience with the mountain gorillas. Getting so close to these gentle giants is so overwhelming and is a lifetime safari experience. The trekking experience will start early morning at 8:00 am but you will transfer from your lodge to the park office for briefing at around 7:00 am. Make sure you will have the right gear and clothing for this kind of experience. From here you will be required to have your gorilla trekking permit which will allow you to a full day trekking. In groups of 8 people, accompanied by a guide, you will trek through the Jungles of the Impenetrable forest to track one of the habituated gorilla groups. Bwindi has several places where the trekking is possible and these include Nkuringo, Ruhija, rushaga and Buhoma. Once you are close to the gorillas, take as many pictures to take back home. A few rules like no flash photophraphy or no starring direct in the gorillas eyes. After this experience which normally takes between 2 to 7 hours, you will receive a gorilla tracking certificate from UWA, then later retire back to your lodge.
Day 3: Bwindi back to Kampala
After the healthy breakfast in the morning. Prepare for the journey back to Kampala. You will get to see stunning views of the Kigezi hills – the most beautiful part of Uganda.
